Snow Day

Today was a snow day! I had lots of fun hanging out with friends and having fun in the snow.  I can’t believe that I am going to go from the super snowy weather here to the warm, sunny beaches in Mexico on Friday. I really hope that tomorrow is another snow day, even though I am really ready for spring. I am kind of sad a bout all of the snow, because all of the flower that had just started to bloom will probably be dead now, hopefully they will be ok.

Baking

I am a really bad baker. Usually the things that I try to bake end up burnt. Once I even put too many eggs in my cookies and they ended up like scrambled eggs.   Recently, I have been trying to do more baking so that I can get better at it. Usually, it doesn’t turn out so good. Last night I tried to bake cupcakes. After I made the batter, I realized that we didn’t have any cupcake liners, so I decided to make it into a cake. I poured the cake batter into the pan and put it in the oven. Then I made frosting.  I pulled the cake out of the oven and it look beautiful. I tried to take the cake out of the pan, I flipped the pan over and the cake started cracking, then it crumbled onto the plate. I tried to put it back together with the frosting  but it was too hot and the frosting melted into a gooey mess.

SOL #21

Today it is really cloudy outside. This is my least favorite kind of weather. I hate when its cloudy because it is not fun like rain, or pretty like snow, or warm like sun, its just grey. I really hope that it warms up or that the sun comes out by the end of the day or by tomorrow. I like the winter, but I am so ready for it to be summer. Even though the first day of spring was yesterday it really doesn’t feel like spring yet.

Mexico

For spring break this year we are going to Mexico. I am really exited. I cant wait for the beaches and the warm weather there. I have been to Mexico a couple of times but I was really young so I think that the experience will be different this time. I am so exited to go back an see the beautiful beaches. We did so many things when we were in Mexico like snorkeling, meeting the wildlife and even swimming with dolphins. I can’t wit to do theses things and more again.  

Snow Day

I wake up and panic

The clock on my wall reads 8:00

I start to get dressed as fast as I can

I look out the window

Everything has been covered in snow

Snow falls from the sky,

Adding to what’s already there

I breathe a sigh of relief

It’s a snow day. 

Opening Night

“And it’s hey to the starboard, heave ho” they sing and I take a deep breath, that’s my cue. I grip Haden’s arm tightly and turn around the thick, black curtain. The bright lights sting my eyes and I try my best to smile anyway I pretend to whisper something to Haden and she pretends to laugh and whisper something back. We make our way across the stage, and then disappear into the safety of the curtain.

Barcelona

Last summer I went on a trip to Barcelona with my grandparents. I really loved it there. It was an amazing and really beautiful city.  There is also a lot of history there. When we were there we visited all of the Gaudi houses and buildings, which was my favorite part of the trip.  We also visited lots of different museums, and other really interesting places around the city that were really amazing.  We also took a train to Gerona for a day and so lots of really interesting things there. Going to Barcelona was a really great experience and I hope that I get the chance to go there again.
